Hello Stephanie,

I would suggest joining the portable player list, formerly the blind IPod
list, and asking this question. This is a high traffic list but you can
always unsubscribe once you get your question answered. The people on the
list are very knowledgeable and helpful. I learned a lot from the list.
Here are the instructions for how to join and use the list:

To subscribe: send blank email with SUBSCRIBE in subject to
portable-player-request at freelists.org
You will get an email asking you to reply to confirm your subscription.
You will be notified once you are subscribed and should start seeing
emails from the list right away.

To unsubscribe send email with UNSUBSCRIBE in subject to same address

Once subscribed, to post a message send an email to:
Portable-player at freelists.org

Hope this helps. Good luck with your IPod problems!

Regards,
Sherry Wells

Subject: [RR] Tech help needed with ipod

I just bought an Ipod shuffle. I need help figuring out how to use
it. I am running Windows Vista (I am very sorry to say). When I
installed the Itunes software, bad things happened to Windows Vista,
so I uninstalled the Itunes software. I don't *think* any permanent
damage was done ... who knows with Windows Vista.

Is there any way I can load mp3s onto the Ipod without using the
Itunes software? I checked the web on "Managing Ipods with Winamp",
but the first step is to open Itunes .... and I don't want to have to
go through that again ....

Anyone out there able to point me in the right direction? I am
guessing all I really need to do is find the right folder to dump my
mp3s into. I don't want to do anything fancy, I just want to get the
files loaded onto the little fellow and play them ....
