News Wire:
VickieParker is a marriage and family therapist and
hosts a weekly program discussing her journey with weight loss.
She will discuss her struggles with weight loss and listen to our struggles as well.
Let us see what Vickie has in mind for us for week 8.
Here are my ideas for week 8.
For those of you who missed our last meeting, it was very interesting. Bob is sending out a file for everyone to listen to and comment. If you would like the file let Bob know. His email address is: boacosta at pacbell.net. Otherwise come join our journey. It has been full of twists and turns.
Try an affermation this week; I am making healthy food and life style choices everyday. Come join us.
Vickie
Strategies to help us/stay on track are as follows:
1. Creating positive thoughts
2. Creating a new positive self image
3. Focusing on new behaviors
4. Know yourself and what works best for you
5. Develop a support system
6. Make a comfort book and develop a plan for getting back on track
Thanks so much,
I invite you to come join are discussion group and be a part of our exploration and journey.
Vickie has gotten us under way with journaling. If you would like to read her thoughts here, please write to me and I'll send it to you. I have sent her journaling ideas to those who attend the various meetings. If I don't have your email please send it to me.
Please consider these thoughts in getting started on your weight loss journey. Where to begin?
How can I make this time losing weight different?
Why lose weight?
What does weight loss mean to you in your life?
If I were thin, what would my lifelook like?
Why self-talk is so important in developing an awareness of food?
Why not eat with gusto and relish every bite?
What other life or behavioral changes will I need to make?
