Summary of Creative Writing Discussion Group for April 21, 2009

Our creative writing discussion group met for the first time this past Tuesday. Nan Hawthorne will be facilitating the discussion initially and providing some guidance and assignments until such time as the group can take over choosing projects.

The first session focused on the importance of character development as the first step in writing. As practice, members were asked to join the collaborative writing group Ghostletters at http://www.ghostletters.net and to introduce their newly created characters to The Island, a special scenario.

Anyone interested in being involved is welcome to listen to the recorded session available at http://www.accessibleworld.org Select Nan Hawthorne under the Archives heading. Contact Nan Hawthorne for a summary at hawthorne at nanhawthorne.com. All are welcome, no matter your writing experience or ability.

Our next meeting will be held in the Accessible World Classroom on Tuesday May 19 at 9 PM Eastern/6 PM Pacific.
