The Friends of Bookshare News Wire, Indianapolis, Indiana USA
All ye humans, great and small,
You're invited--1 and all!
Summer will make its yearly debut next Saturday. On that same day, the Friends of Bookshare Explorations in Creative writing will launch its first official meeting. For the first four lessons, the group will be studying the topic "writing what you know" from the course material at:
http://openlearn.open.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=2799
The introduction to the course states:
"This unit includes reading and writing activities that are geared to developing the use of memory, observation and the senses. The aim is to develop your perceptual abilities, honing your capacity to see detail in the world. You will be encouraged to start seeing the familiar in a new way and to make good use of your own personal history."
Those who wish to participate are encouraged to read the first lesson of this course prior to the group meeting and be prepared to discuss it.
Mark your calendars now! You will want to take advantage of this great opportunity to be an active participant in this totally free writing group designed to encourage its members by means of instruction and constructive critique to become better writers. Attend and learn the art of writing and have fun doing it!
