The recent announcement by the Voice of America that they are going to
be phasing out shortwave broadcasting is another nail in the coffin of
the medium. It's not quite dead yet, but sure is on life support.
So if high frequency analog broadcasting is ending, where do you go for
international news, music, drama, and all the other stuff that made
shortwave so cool? To the web of course!
In our July Radio Waves discussion, we'll discuss alternatives to
shortwave radio. Where to find the best and most accessible links to
international radio. We'll discuss links, portals, and show you how to
replace your old shortwave receiver with your PC and other gadgetry.
