ACCESSIBLE WORLD PRESENTS A DISCUSSION OF THE ACCESSIBLE FEATURES OF THE ANDROID by MIKE ARRIGO

Tek Talk is so very please to welcome Mike Arrigo to discuss and demonstrate the accessibility features of the Android. As Mike states: I'll do it live, that way I can demonstrate the most recent
features.

As far as what I can include, I can start with an overview of how
accessibility on android works, then I can talk a bit about which phones
work best, I have 2 phones here, one has a keyboard and one doesn't, so I
can talk about the different ways of text input, including speech
recognition, that is an awesome feature, you can literally dicate your text
messages, emails, etc. We can also look at web browsing, and take a look at
some third party apps, such as radio apps, and especially some GPS apps,
that's where android really shines, the amount of loation information you
have available, as well as directions to places is great, and it's totally
free. Since android and the iphone are the 2 most popular platforms now, I
can also talk about some of the differences. The good thing is that both of
these platforms are quite useable without sight.
