Do you have a friend who has truly passed the friendship test. I feel safe in saying my best friend Nancy Lynn has passed any I could give her and hope she would say the same.
There was a time when we hadn’t met. Little more than long ago pen pals and voices on the phone, we got to know each other very quickly when life dealt her a card anyone would find difficult.
Who is Nancy Lynn? We see her name on lists all the time. As she says, it is her mission in life to entertain, inform, empower, and inspire others. As a life philosophy and commitment to humanity, that pretty much says it all.
Why is she our next guest? If Books And Beyond is about anything other than creativity and discussion with fabulous authors of their books, it is about how we can live life to the fullest with optimism. It is those who must come to terms with the possibility of losing life who often come to treasure it most.
Nancy is more than a best friend. She is the producer of this show, and much more. She is a cancer survivor who managed to keep her humor and and enthusiasm for life even while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She is a survivor of meningitis. What do you learn when life hangs in the balance? Has her view about what she feels is important in life changed? What imprint have those harrowing medical experiences left on her life? What does she look forward to doing with this precious gift?
Nancy is funny and always ready with a humorous comment. Of the two of us, I am the more serious one. I feel things deeply and hold on to things passionately. Nancy can be serious and often is but she is at heart seriously funny. She is the friend I never thought I’d find and the one I hope will be with me through whatever life brings. I hope you have a friend like that.
Below, you will find some information about her. It is just a small part of all she is. If you are having a party, she will make it fun. As the host of this show we share, she takes advice and criticism better than almost anyone I know. Nancy was on Books And Beyond shortly after our show began. We thought it time for an update on all she is doing now. Join us and get to know better a fabulous woman who wants to be known as a fun person and would prefer that over being called a lady. I know we will all have fun in celebrating her survival.
Nancy Lynn graduated from Florence Township Memorial High School in 1970. She went on to Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA where she majored in sociology graduating in 1974. Her major interests are, really, anything to do with entertainment. That would include tv, movies, theater and, of course. The latest addition to her list is Reading. This newly acquired interest is in part due to nls making it easy and her friend and your host making it fun. She performed standup comedy in the 80’s and 90’s in Philadelphia Pennsylvania area nightclubs on open mike nights. A member of Toastmasters both in the 80’s in Philadelphia where I lived for 13 years and today in St.Louis For several years and in various locales, she participated in Landmark Education. She loves to travel and has had three guide dogs.
