"Cooking with Ken and Cindy" will present a special cooking program on barbecuing and grilling as we prepare for Memorial Day and the entire summer. We will be presenting some interesting guests to discuss outdoor cooking, types of outdoor equipment to use outdoors, charcoal versus gas cooking, and methods for making your BBQ tasty and pleasurable. For some of you who are unable to cook outside, we will discuss grilling on indoor grills such as the George Foreman grill.
What is the significance of what we call oldtime radio? How did it begin, and why was it so popular in its day? What was involved in the change from radio to television, and who made that transition successfully?
On the next Books And Beyond, we'll speak with John and Larry Gassman who are experts in the field. They were consultants on Leonard Maltin's book "The Great American Broadcast." We will talk with them about their relationship with oldtime radio and with the people involved in its production. Because of the vast nature of this topic, we made it into a 2-part show.
On Wednesday, May 19th we will again visit the era of the American Revolution, but not from the viewpoints of George Washington and Patrick Henry but from their slaves, Henry Washington and Ralph Henry who along with eighty to one-hundred thousand black Americans sought freedom behind British lines.
Have you ever submitted a search only to get no results found or, in some ways worse,
a million results found? Have you tried in vain to check out that suspicious sounding
email chain letter you got from your best friends aunts sister-in-law? Classroom
of the Air is offering a double bill in May. Learn how to get the most out of your
searches and learn how to verify those hard to believe emails. Ann Parsons will be
presenting information and tips on searches and Sherry Wells will be talking about
how to check out those emails.
