Having access to off-the-shelf mp3 players, such as Apple's iPod, is a major concern to blind computer users. This week the Accessible World Tek Talk online training event will demonstrate how Rockbox, an open source firmware replacement for a growing number of MP3 players, is providing that access. Rockbox aims to be considerably more functional and efficient than the manufacturer's device's stock firmware while remaining easy to use and customizable.
